Let us help! With The Woven Wolf, you can learn to sew from anywhere.

Who are your teachers?

Most of our instructors also teach at our studio in Toronto, The Make Den. Some of them are talented and amazing people who we have collaborated with to create unique instructional videos.  We have gone to school for fashion design all over the world! From Ryerson University and The International Academy of Design in Toronto, to University of Hawaii, Maui College in Hawaii.  If you are interested in collaborating with us on an instructional video, please contact us.

What kind of equipment and tools do you use in the studio?

We do most of our sewing on the Janome 625E Sewist.   It’s a sturdy, reliable machine and we highly recommend it. We’ve used it to sew everything from beginner pillowcases to silk chiffon wedding dresses – it’s always easy to use and our students love them!  We use the Janome XG43D for all of our serging. We teach exclusively on Janome machines because we find them to be reliable and we highly recommend them to students.

We also use and recommend Titech scissors, Schmetz needles, Unique hand sewing needles, Clover silk pins for sewing delicate fabrics and Klasse pins for everything else. These are just some of the brands and equipment we recommend to our students. If you’re looking to invest in a pair of high-end scissors, we also recommend Gingher.

For fabrics, we use high-quality quilting cottons from brands such as Cotton & Steel, Tula Pink, Art Gallery, Alexander Henry, Kona Bay, Free Spirit and many others.

Can I come visit the studio?

Yes, please! Our full roster of classes can be found online at The Make Den.
If you want to swing by and purchase fabric, our shop hours are Tuesday to Friday noon to 9 and Saturday to Sunday from noon to 7pm.  We do close on holiday weekends and at Christmas.  Please check our calendar for specific dates.

Can I sell items made from your classes or patterns?

Absolutely!  And please tag us on Instagram! (#thewovenwolf and @wovenwolf)  We love seeing all of the wonderful businesses that our classes and our website have helped to start! We also love to feature our students work in our monthly newsletter and on our blog – it’s super inspiring for us, and for other students to read your success stories!  Please send us a link to your Etsy shop or your website if you’d like your story shared with others!

You will need to clip and tape these pieces together using scotch tape before cutting out the pattern pieces in their correct size.   Check out our Free Tutorials section for instructions on how to do this properly!  Make sure that your printer is set to 100% under the “Scale” settings.
